Queston: Why do I only get a 5.89k from a 1950 Telecaster bridge pickup?
I had this P/U since 1974 I dont think its a reround.
I had it in a hardtail strat for years sounded great. I changed the hardtail to a lefty wammy and replaced pickups with emgs.

It could be a cold solder point or as happens in older pups sometimes some of the windings let go.Is this just a recent thing with tthe pup or did it weaken gradually over time?Martian or one of the other electrical gurus would be able to pinpoint the problem better.

The P/U was in a 53 Tele The org owner butchered the body and the head stock of the neck. So I picked up a 74 hardtail ( anchor body)I had The P/U put in the bridge It kicked sounded great warm loud best I ever played (I never tested it) Then in 87 I put the P/U in a box for 20 yrs I just took it out thought about selling so I tesed it.
