Hey Lee,

I just got her home today. Love the N3's, super quiet. The neck tone is incredible.

I ordered a Natuaral Standard Tele end of July through a local music store Musicworld. Was said that it would be delivered middel September. Just before Sepember I was told it would be arriving in the first week of September which was great. Then the guitar was not on the shipment. The next shipment was due in the 3rd week of September. Now when I mail I dont even get a response.

This is really frustrating.

Hello gydvyver,

I have an American Standard that I bought while waiting for my American Deluxe and it is a fantastic guitar. When I picked up my guitar yesterday, I played it for a long while at the dealer and then ordered another American Standard (natural with maple neck), before I left.

Because I had been corresponding with Fender about the American Deluxe, I wrote to my contact in Customer relations to see if I should anticipate the same 3+ month wait time, and his response was that the new guitars are on back order and the rep from the store should call their inside sales contact to get more accurate dates, but that Fender is getting more and more caught up each day.

From my experience with my current three Telecasters, all purchased after June 2010, I believe the guitars are worth the wait and represent incredible values in playability, workmanship, and enjoyment.

On a side note, Playing the Standard and the Deluxe side by side, I notice very little difference in the neck sizes, U vs. C. While the pickups are quieter on the Deluxe, the Standard is not very noisy itself. I live in a house that was built in the mid 1950's and the grounding is not great, but both guitars are amazingly quiet. The fit and finish on both is top notch, however, I think the nut was cut better on the deluxe. I changed to 10's with no issue with strings binding at the nut. On the standard, the G string needs to be enlarged as it will bind and ping during bends. The bridge on the deluxe is much more comfortable for my right hand on the deluxe. I play very percussively with my right hand and continuously change the pressure on the strings by rotating my the fat of my palm from the bridge to the strings for palm muting (This is why I have trouble playing a guitar with a floating bridge as I am always pulling the strings sharp with my palm).

Overall, I am very impressed that the standard stands up so well to the deluxe.

Let us know when yours comes in and post pics!

Don

I ordered a Butterscotch Blond Deluxe Ash Tele on the 24th and FedEx says it's on the truck for delivery today. Did I get lucky? Ordered mine from Sweetwater. Said they had one coming in three days and it was mine if I wanted it.

I think you are very lucky.

I think the problem that I have is that I live in South Africa (Cape Town).
I was told that the guitar is on a ship on its way. So hopefully it will be soon.

Enjoy

Tele arrived as advertised today. Awesome guitar; tone, feel, action, everything! I'm going to have a hard time putting it down. Good luck and hope yours arrives soon.

Don,

I will admit, I wasn't a HUGE fan of the butterscotch blonde at first (maybe because I am 24 years old), but after seeing your guitar I have really changed my perspective on that finish. And I mean REALLY. I don't know if the color is a little different now due to a new paint vendor or what, but it just looks fantastic.

Woolecox,

Congrats on your new Telecaster. I definitely think you are very fortunate to get yours so soon as I have waited 6 months now and think it will be longer before I get it. I have officially given up on trying to figure out why, how, when, and what Fender does with their orders at this point. As always, pictures are welcome and enjoy that thing!

Gvdvyver,
Like Don said, I think the guitars are going to be well worth the wait. I will say though, I have never waited so long for something that I have wanted so badly in my entire life (it will be 6 months of waiting in October for me). I use to think waiting 5 business days for a guitar pedal was tough.

Hey Lee,

Like I mentioned, I am color blind, so the color I see is probably different than you see. Butterscotch seems to be all over the board, but I am very pleased with mine. It does seem to have different hues in different lights, but all guitars seem to have that. I like the grain, they did a fantastic job matching the three piece body.

I look forward to seeing pics of yours when it arrives!

Don

Don,

Finally my guitar has been completed and has left Fender's plant. Unfotunately, now I have to wait for Guitar Center's distribution center to sort out all the guitars that were sent to them from Fender and send mine from the bunch. I was told I will receive the guitar October 22nd. Fender sent the guitar out prior to October 5th. What's another 17 days when you've waited 6 months?

Anyhow, hows that blonde baby of yours been treating you?

Lee

After a two week daily affair with my Blond Tele, I finally picked up my Strat again today. Love 'em both.

There's just something about that solid feel, tone, and sustain forever about a good American Tele.

It will be worth the wait!

Hello Lee,

I am still loving mine. I decided to take a lesson with my old guitar teacher last night. I took lessons from him in 1990 and 1991. He loved it as well. He loved the S1 switch, but my favorite is still the neck pickup, just smooth.

Your wait will be over soon and all the little bumps will be quickly forgotten when you hold her in your hands.

Remember to put her down long enough to take pics and post them!

Well Guys,

What was once October 22nd is now December 14th. I just want to hold, admire and play my baby! Once again, pretty bummed out but almost entirely desensitized at this point. One thing I will say though, this whole wait thing will make it even more special when it arrives.

Hello Lee,

What happened? I thought it was on the Fed Ex truck?
