really great collection. i'm in the process of down-sizing and keeping only my teles and strats. in all honesty, i may sell the strats and buy a vintage tele or two. i have a cherry cola american standard tele that i just changed the pick guard on - from white to black. now that may not be your cup of tea, but the red/black combo looks truly awesome. rarely do i comment on colors because there are way too many reviews on the m.f. and g.c. reviews that harp on colors. yes, colors may be important to some, but you would think that for those reviewers, you could pull out all the electronics or add poor quality pick ups and the guitar would still get 5 stars because of the colors. but anyway, once again, a great collection. i pop up on many review boards praising the sound, sturdiness and finish of fender guitars. hands down, whichever one you happen to be talking about, Fender makes the best (subjective opinion, i hate to use "best" in a general, objective way) guitars out there. american made, foreign made, etc., Fender does an excellent job of quality control. i am a new orleanean who lost 29 guitars to hurricane katrina. genius that i am, i anticipated only minor street flooding so i brought 2 with me when i evacuated and put the rest in my jacuzzi. you can imagine what guitars looked like after being immersed in filthy lake water for two weeks. but, i was almost, ALMOST, able to salvage and refurbish one telecaster. as bizarre as this sounds, Fender's quality showed in almost being able to resurrect the tele. so keep 'em and protect them. no guitar, no matter the price, can match a Fender - especially a tele. ciao, the prof

Yeah this is a Fender American Standard in crimson transparent red. Fender says they are using a thinner undercoat...

Quote:
Fender switched to an undercoat that is thinner, and that allows the body to flex and resonate more, while retaining the cosmetic advantages of an undercoat

I can't believe that somebody traded this in. It's a 2007, very lite. I really like it. Not happy with the pictures, it was sunset, i'll try to do better.

Coolidge, if you ever consider getting rid of that Crimson Red/Black, you let us Tele guys know first. Did you polish the chrome on the bridge and control plate? Very shiny!
