I am thinking about building a Tele partscaster. I know of a very nice squier affinity butterscotch blond that I can get very cheap. My question is this, will fender MIM/MIA parts fit the squier? I'm sure that most on here know the answer, but I don't. I'm concerned about picking up the squier for the body and the holes not lining up for the upgraded parts.

Thanks for your help. I learn something new reading this forum every day.

I've never owned a Squier in my life but if they are anything like Mexican and Japanese Fenders you will likey find that everything fits or can be easily made to fit with the possible exception of the screw holes for the scratch-plate. It's not that big a deal if you have to drill a few new ones as the old holes will be covered up by the scratch-plate anyway. That's assuming you will be using the same kind and shape. as was originally found on the body.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Agree with BMW-KTM. I have owned a few Squiers and modified them. Just know that typically there are different sizes for some replacement parts, so measure your parts to get the correct fit. For example, the hole size required for the tuners can vary depending on which tuners you want to use. Just measure your hole size to see which tuners will fit, or if you need to enlarge the hole. The same is true for all makes and models, not just the Squier.
