When I was a teen, 30 years ago, I had one 67 Strat and that was it. I gigged all the time without a spare, then I finally moved to two guitars and felt I had a lot then. Now, as an adult, I lust after nice instruments all the time. I think I like to reward myself on a monthly basis. I am used to it, but as of late I have had to slow down and now only have two tele's and I feel like I am deprived. lol Funny how times change. I think it is more common now for people to have a pile of guitars.

Did you see the Hendrix documentary...about him being in the 101 Airborne?

Some clips on their site, possibly more showings on Bio.com channel?

You know how it is with guitars: Once you buy one...well, you just want to buy a lot more.

"Why Can't I just be happy with my 3 Teles??"

For the same reason you can't be happy with 3 cars or 3 girlfriends.
They each bring out something unique in you! And you get addicted to the uniqueness.

Airborne,

I understand your dilemma, only for me its Strats. I always thought one Strat and one Tele should be enough. So far I wave been completely satisfied with my one Tele. Although an American Vintage 62' in Surf Green is always in the back of my mind. With the Strats I own I think each is unique, and a little different in the way it sounds, or feels, and I think I keep searching for that one beats the others in every way. Its just not going to happen. I have trouble picking between the 4 of them and I think if I owned 15 of them I would have the same problem, along with a dwindling bank account.

The marketing department @ Fender LOVES you guys. It's their justification
for the numerous permutations of what is simple plank with added pu's and a neck. And the justification is we can sell even more to the collector, tone chaser, guitar ho, and even a neophyte, by changing 2-3 parameters. I'm guilty too.

Viva Fender!
