I too want one of these and I have read loads of reviews and watched numerous videos. The guitar is incredible with a Custom Shop collective design a two point tremelo that has not been seen used outside of the custom shop since now. The pups are custom shop design, it has locking tuners and it now comes in blonde. This guitar is a real winner and a much better buy than the Vintage HotRod at twice the price. Ok... now I really want one.

What are you describing???? The Baja Tele (like 99.999% of other Teles) doesn't have a tremolo. And it has vintage style tuners, not locking ones. This is what the OP is talking about:

SuburbanBlues - the Baja is really a great guitar. The best MIM Tele yet in my opinion. I was going to get a Highway 1 Tele and upgrade the pickups and bridge, but found the Baja is really killer in stock form. For more info try doing a search here in the Tele section for "Baja", there is a ton of threads about it since it gets discussed often.

My one bit of advice is to try many Bajas before you buy one. They are made of ash and ash tends to vary in weight greatly, if that matters to you. I had to try a few Bajas in a couple different shops before I found one that weighed less than a bowling ball.

And here's me thinking I got jipped on my Baja  no trem or locking tuners on mine   I have to agree with Metro, try before you buy. It's a great guitar, you won't be disappointed.

Yep, you are right. I must have thinking of something else. No trem on this tele and no locking tuners. So sorry about that.

Thanks a lot guys I'll definitely try as many as I can. What'd you guys think of the custom shop pickups?

The pickups are what sealed the deal for me. In my opinion they have much more vintage character than the Highway 1 or American Standard pickups. Yet they have more b@lls than the American reissue pickups.

Keep in mind though that the pickups are "Custom Shop Designed". They are not made in the Custom Shop, they are made along with the guitar in the Mexico factory to specs that the Custom Shop supplied.

Sidenote: The 4-way switch and S-1 knob was kind of fun to play with at first, but I tend to stick to the traditional Tele pickup combinations on my Baja. The pickups are great and don't really need the superfluous phase switching.
