Hey Blackcatbone,

I'm bumping this to the top, just because! Your last update said you were waiting for neck pickup installation and setup and your new case. Is it any further along?

No pressure, I'm just dying to see pics of the finished axe. Best of luck BCB.

Hey Kong, my luthier caught pneumonia! I am waiting for him to finish up, should be this week. Believe me, I have been waiting patiently to get that baby home and plug it into my Carr Rambler and cut loose. Soon as I have it back, I will definitely post the pics up.

Finally got the Dreamcaster back, been playing all weekend and havent taken any pics yet but I will post some tonight/tomorrow. Easily the best Tele I have ever played which includes a real 54 a 61 and a 1982 Fullerton AVRI 52. The pups have that unique Kinman sound, just enough twang and when attacked they distort nicely. Plugged into my Carr Rambler the tone is unbelievable. Neck feels like the Hwy 1 neck I love so much but faster due to the nitro finish. Have to get used to playing the jumbo frets again after playing my Starfire IV for so long while waiting. The relic job is just enough and looks REAL. This pic really doesn't show off how good looking this thing is. Good to have a Tele in the house again, I forgot how much I loved them. Now it is time to commence build #2 which is going to be a blonde or vintage white Tele with maple neck...possibly a Strat.

BCB,

Very nice build my Brother! There's nothing in the world to compare to a Tele!

Congrats on a beautiful guitar - I'm looking forward to your next project.

Here are some more pics. Every time I look at this thing I get more excited about how it turned out. The aging, checking, finish checks, fretboard wear all look so good and not cookie cuttered like a road worn or custom shop relic (IMO). Once I get the pup cover broken in and a little wear on the frets it'll be complete with the agin since the pup cover and frets look new. My other guitars aren't going to get the playing time they deserve for a while, I have been playing the Tele nonstop. I may make a sound clip but I promise you guys do not want to hear me play. I don't want to be responsible for causing hearing loss for anyone on here. And yes, I cheated and put a Fender waterslide on it myself, but I am never going to sell this guitar or try to pass it off as a real Fender nor do I care if someone gets offended that I put a Fender sticker on it. This is MY guitar for life right here. 8)
