So I've finally decided to build my dream Telecaster. I tried several models and liked something about everyone of them but never really found the one that felt prefect for me. I am going to build a Shoreline gold with 1 ply black guard with vintage amber tinted neck Telecaster.

Body- 2 piece clear ash by Musikraft. Cut to specs of a 1952 Telecaster

Neck- Select flamed maple, 21 Jumbo frets, 1 11/16 nut width, dual acting truss rod.

Pickups- Kinman Broadcaster set Zero Hum

Hardware- Glendale Blackguard cold rolled steel no-cut bridge, Glendale Brass "In-Tone" cutting edge saddles, Glendale Extreme fat neck plate, Fender 4 way switch, Glendale cold rolled steel chrome plated ferrules, Glendale repro Broadcaster knobs, Glendale machined jack cup, Switchcraft jack, 1-ply black pickguard, Gotoh vintage style locking tuners, Fender top hat selector tip, Glendale flat head screws, Glendale Speedking Tonemaster pots, Glendale "Pink Paisley" Paper in oil tone capacitor.

This is what I have so far. Pickups are on the way and have to buy knobs, pots, tuners and then send out to have neck and body and finished and light aging done.

Looks GREAT! 8)

A lot of flamed maple and nice rolled fretboard edges it looks like. The dual trussrod is nice too!

Looking forward to seeing it finished. I get a lot of parts from here and highly recommend them :

Thanks for the link Mike! I will have to check out the prices.

The flamed maple turned out even better than I expected, I can't wait to see it once it is tinted!

Yeah, I love that look. I had built a Tele with a flamed maple neck from USACG and the order was late.

When I called to expedite they apologized and ended up sending me one very similiar to that one of yours.

But, Guitar Parts Resource (link) is very good and fast!

I've been toying with the idea of trying a chambered or hollowed out Tele build.....but still in the thinking process on it.

Maybe kinda like this :

A hollow body Tele is an interesting concept, i'd like to see that!

If this one turns out how I expect it to then I am going to build another one, possibly a thinline.

my luthier turned me onto the Glendale parts. I played a Tele that was made using all Glendale parts including their pickups and it was super. I already have plans to use the Glendale pots and tone capacitors along with pretty much every other part they make.

BCB - that's gonna be a sweet build! I've seen (and like) a lot of Glendale Tele stuff. You are going to have an awesome guitar. I'm jealous!

Thanks, I wish I had everything ready to roll right now, but I'll have to be patient. I am hoping to have it all done by Mid November if all goes well.

The more I read about the Glendale parts the more I realize they are worth the extra dollars. I figured might was well go all out and put some extra dough in it, in the end I will have put about $1200 into it and have a guitar that far exceeds even the custom shop guitars.

It definitely came out a lot more flamey than I expected. In the right light it looks 3d almost.

well i had to make some sacrifices. I sold one of my favorite Guild acoustics and a vintage Guild archtop to pay for the project. But I have accepted the fact that I enjoy playing acoustic and the Telecaster is the electric guitar that just feels right for me. So it makes sense to build a Dreamcaster and make it my number one electric. Thanks!

I wasn't talking about the cost involved BCB, more the know how. I admire the sacrifice made by your goodself though, I have a feeling it's going to be worth it. Who knows, I might learn something from your's and Kong's build threads. I'm looking forward to both, good luck.
