Hi Kong!

I reckon you should spray this body with a solid colour. As nice as the body is I reckon you could get a nicer one for a natural "naked" finish and start off a build with that in mind. The filler in the knot will really show up if you go natural on this one.

You don't see many Sherwood Green Tele's about.... I for one would like to see a matching pair! :D

What are the Body dimensions of a vintage Tele? I'm going to start a build but I'm not sure where I can get accurate plans from.

Length from top of neck pocket, width across lower bout, dimensions of cutaway, ect.

I don't mean to hijack the thread like this, but I need to ask someone who knows what they are doing.

Help me please!

Yes, I think it will. Is this plan as accurate as it looks?

Thank you for your help.

I've never built a body from scratch. I found the plan in an internet search and thought it looked pretty good. I checked some of the measurements against my project Tele body and they matched, but I can't vouch for 100% accuracy. Best of luck!

Dan, I've been very lazy lately... Going to get back to building today. I need to sand the body and prime today. Hopefully I'll shoot the color this week and have all the clear on by Sunday 10/17.

Then it will be at least 30 days and I may wait 40 this time because the lacquer is still a bit soft on the Strat that I did.

So this thing should be finished by the end of November. I know, I know, I take forever with these things. I just like playing more than building!!

By the way I'm thinking of using a different brand of clear lacquer than Deft for this one. I like Deft because it is cheap and I can get it locally, but it did come out a bit soft.

Hi Kong!

Just thinking about your wiring diagram and thought I'd check in to see how things are going.

Please don't feel as if you have to have something to show us build hungry forumites! I'm a firm believer in only building when your in the mood. I've completely fudged projects by setting deadlines and I reckon like me you have a full time job to pay the bills and building guitars is very much a hobby. Take as long as you need buddy!

I'm just glad a man of your calibre is willing to share your progress with us here. :D

Andy

Hi Kong, the email alert tool seems to have malfunctioned so I have missed some progress until now! I'll get it fixed - perhaps if I channeled the second auxiliary tank through the primary intake valve...

great goings, Kong, nice grain!

Ahhh yes the Tele build... Even the blank look beautiful. Thanks for sharing a blank for GFS.. They have great prices on everything. The guy who owns and operates the store is a very smart and savvy business man.. They sell cables for cheap.. I bought a 20' cable for $9.00, and it is as good as the Monster cable. Great prices and great service...
