I have a HWY 1 that I've had for about a year. The only mod I've done is installed Calaham Compensated Saddles. Really helped intonation and the brass saddles look great.

I took my Tele to my local shop and decided to have them do a quick setup...I wasn't quite sure I had dialed the new saddles in. Long story short, I told the tech to also throw on a set of 11's. Ive always used 10's.

I'm amazed at how much of a tonal change that just adding 11's made. My guitar sounds much warmer and stays in tune much better. The fingers are a little sore, but well worth it. Not to mention the setup was perfect. Guitar plays like a dream.

Anybody else using 11's and have a similar experience.

I have 11s as well, I think that everyone should try a heavy gauge at least once in their lives.

Consider us old geezers. Back in the day, all new guitars came with 12s and many stores didn't sell lighter gauge sets (yet).

Yup, I also have 11s, they sound great and I like the feel of them, feels like there's actually something under your finger ^^

11s for the past 15+ years, and I've never looked back...

Yes, I like .11's now, and it too is a new thing for me. I like them a LOT. I have been playing acoustic with .12's for a long time now, and the .11's on an electric just feels so right. In my old rockin band days I used to break a lot of strings from too heavy of a hand. I wish I would've tried them back then. Duh.

When I got my Tele (used) it had 11s on it. I didn't like them.

I have Ernie Ball regulars on it now and it feels much better to me.

I usually use DR TiteFit 9s.

Flat wound 11s on a Gretsch 5120. Great for jazz and standards.
