Happy new guitar day to me. I picked up a 2006 MIM 60s Series Tele this evening in Candy Apple. It had the stock pickups swapped for a Chris Klein Esquire Bridge Pickup and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity II in the neck position. It also has upgraded CTS pots and new brass threaded saddles. I just played it for about an hour and I'm loving the tone of this thing. It looks pretty killer too. I bought it as a possible candidate for refinishing, but I don't know if I'll have the heart to remove the Candy Apple finish.

I think it will be a nice friend for my Flood-caster. They look happy together, don't you think?

Here are some pics:

Very nice. Only change I would make would be new machine heads. Very very nice.

After only playing an hour, I really like the tone. I have a MIM standard to compare it to, and I thought the antiquity was a bit warmer and had slightly more output (to my ear). It also was slightly clearer - the standard sounded just slightly muddy to me. I tried comparing them on identical settings through the same amp. I'm no expert and these are my impressions after very little playing time.

Ceallach, which tuners would you install, and why? Just curious. I'm guessing something locking to ensure tuning stability, but figured I'd ask.

Great looking Tele! I keep thinking the '60s Classic might be the perfect Tele for me but I've never seen one in person to try.

The colour is lovely.
On a side note, how do you find the valve junior?

I really like the Valve Jr. It sounds very basic and very vintage. I would like to get an EQ pedal to "open it up" a bit as it can be a bit dark. It is my first tube amp though, so I don't have much to compare it to. After getting it, I would say a tube amp is a must have and I'll probably get something a little higher end in the future. I plan on trying out a Vox Night Train and Marshall Haze next time I hit the music store.

Sweet guitar,I love CAR and the old style split post Klusons are the best tuners ever made-as far as I'm concerned anyway-they make restringing a breeze.
