I have a blonde baja tele I love. I guess because it is nigh on perfect I am obsessing over minutiae, however... the following things are bugging me:

a) slight gaps of overlarge routing for bridge pickup showing under bridge plate.

b) the quality of the finishing and chroming of the knurled knobs is a wee bit rough, not up to par with any quality tele I've had/played before, but better than many

I would prefer to have pick up selector activate bridge only / bridge neck parallel / bridge neck series / neck only instead of as current (getting used to it though / starting to see some sense in it)

Has anyone else struggled to, but succeeded in finding imperfections in their fave axe and been able to stop obsessing?

Had a similar problem with my Player strat which was perfect until I eventually removed the cellophane from the pickguard to find a gold screw fell out of a single poorly drilled hole. Tarnished after that i tells ye...

a) The infamous "butt crack". All Teles with the vintage "ashtray" bridge I have seen have it, to some extent though, and that includes the vintage 50`s and 60`s models. Is it your first Tele?

b) Knobs must have spent a little less time in the chrome bath than they should. I wouldn`t mind it at all, but if all this really bugs you, you should go back to the store and change your guitar for another (or buy new knobs). About the pickup selector - just get rid of the S1 and rewire it, many people do this.

Truth be told, none of it really makes me want to get rid of it... just that sometimes if you can't find fault you have to make them up so that in the future should GAS attack you can say well this is why you are going to make room

not my first tele but I've always regretted getting rid of 'em in the past, don't really want to part with the Baja. Until now, could never justify owning both a strat and a tele at the same time (always thought you only needed one electric and one acoustic). Started learning properly recently and have increased numbers to 9 - now a bit shell-shocked wondering how it happened lol

Very few guitars are perfect. And to me, for an electric, it doesn't matter. Flaws in the guitar are rock and roll, and even more so if visible from the stage!
