Hey hows it going everyone. Earlier this year i bought my first electric and it happened to be a Lite Ash Telecaster and I couldn't be happier. Everything i was looking for in an electric this baby has, except for the past few weeks. Now, let it be known that i take very good care of my guitar. I keep it out of sunlight and and extreme conditions. i always keep it in its case when I don't use it. I even go as far as to make people wash their hands before they touch my guitar. I'm that serious. But a few weeks ago i picked it up and i got this strange buzzing coming from my saddles and even between my Tunning pegs and where the string meets the nut (no perverted jokes please because I have heard them all). This happens both in standard and even more so when I drop tunning. I was just hoping some one can give me some insight. A friend told me it's probably my strings but I have used the same strings I have always used. Also it came about a month or so after i changed my strings. So it doesn't make sense to me. Any one have any ideas? Please help. Thanks a billion!

Are you talking about string vibration or an electrical buzz? If electrical, does it diminish or go away when you touch the strings?

Opps forgot to specify. It buzzing when it's not plugged in so I guess its string buzz. And Yes it does go away when I touch the string.

Check the relief of the neck.
Maybe that's changed, or else the nut slots are to deep ?
You could go to your local guitar repairman.

lostindesert makes good points. If you change string gauges it can definitely affect how they lie in the nut. The neck relief can definitely be affected by weather or temperature changes, and you should definitely check that out.

come to think of it the string gauge just might be it. I accidently put on 11''s and months later i put 10's i think maybe the wider strings might have "stretched out the nut". Wow you guys are good. And to tell you what, i think it's time i brought it in anyway for a nice checkup. Can''t hurt right? Thanks for all the help guys/girls. I'll see you around. ;)

There's no direct connection between country of origin and string buzz.
USA made guitars are subject to buzzing as well.

Sounds like the original poster has found a solution, but I'd offer this:
If the buzz is NOT audible through an amp, forget about chasing it down. You'll make yourself crazy.
