So I bought this Tele years ago because of its easy use in a live setting, but I honestly don't know much about the original model name or when it was even offered, price, etc. The original neck was broken and replaced with a Warmoth (which I love as it has a nice Nocaster shape to it). Everything else on it is all original.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

That Tele has me stumped,I've been going through some older Frontlines and The Vintage Guitar Price Guide and couldn't find anything like it.I thought it may be a Custom Shop Model but if it were it would most likely have the logo on the neck plate. The strings look like they're nylon, are they?I suggest that you post the pix in the Lounge where you may get more input.Certainly is a great looking guitar.

The neck plate says "Fender USA" on it. I used to have Martin SP+ acoustic strings on it (it has a piezo under the bridge, the back tone control is actually a blend between the Lace/piezo tones). The current strings on it are DR Pure Blues 11-50.

I've heard it was a Custom Shop Model as well, but no one recollects from when or any other details

No sorry, not Custom Shop. Despite the "Made In USA" neckplate, it was made in Japan. My Japan HM Strat has the same type of neckplate. Here is some more info: http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/sold/fe ... lesemi.htm

Wow! Very cool, thank you! I got this for a steal at a guitar show about 10 years ago and she's served me very well since! I saw Ritchie Blackmore use these in the early incarnations of Blackmore's Night, so when I saw one pop up, I had to snag it, especially for the price :)

If I'm remembering correctly that was marketed as the "HM Tele" even though it's a hybrid guitar (accoustic-type peizo bridge plus a magnetic pickup - in this case a Lace). Same as the HM Strats - MIJ even though they have "USA" on the neck plate. You would have to go back to a 1988 or so Frontline to find these.

That's another mystery solved by Forum detectives, anyway you certainly have a unique guitar that I bet sounds great and certainly has to be versatile. It's pretty too and that's a plus.

I'm very pleased with the quick responses and help with identifying her :D

She's a little battle scarred, but she's been a workhorse for many years. The original neck broke and I replaced it with a Warmoth Showcase neck which I ended up liking even more! It has more of an SRV/Boat profile w/an ebony fingerboard.

It is a Japanese TLAC-100 model. It looks a lot like an old thinline tele though

I was thinking a thinline too, but the one pickup(a lace at that) threw me off.

I just bought a copy of Fender "the golden years". If covers every thing they made from 1946-1970. I went to that and checked, nothing except the thinline looked close. I googled it and after about five minutes and about three other forums, I found the TLAC-100. Exactly the one he's got.
