I'm a left handed musician looking for a decent telecaster, I play mostly blues music or whatever it is I feel at the moment. Does anyone have any advice on what might be a good one? or what fender's deals are for getting a model that is only available right handed made lefty?
Thank you very much for helping

There are only certain models available in lefty; I have a MIM 09 tele that is growing on me; also a mid 90's MIJ tele with rosewood that plays well. You can spend top $ for American models but if $ is a concern a MIM will serve you well... just try before you buy. Good luck

I have a '07 MIM Tele and a '09 MIA Tele. I like them both. The MIM is noticeably heavier, and the neck may be a bit chunkier. I like the black finish and better feeling neck on the MIA. The MIM sunburst seems just a bit orange for me. A minor gripe, for sure, since I probably play the MIM more. I got my MIA from Southpaw Guitars in Houston, TX. They have a great selection of left handed Fender products.

Good Luck,
Tom

Late 2009 I bought a Fender Japan 72 reissue custom from a guy on ebay who deals direct with Fender Japan - the Japanese range is much better for leftys and the guitars are brand new and unplayed.

Sent mine to Chris George who is a renowned guitar builder to get it set up and he reckoned it was the best factory finish he had ever seen and set up close to perfect.

This is the seller - he has sold loads of guitars and is very helpful.

There are links on here to the Fender Japan website (translated version, so the English is a bit odd) so you can see all the lefty range. He says he can obtain anything from their range to order and having dealt with him, I would say he is a straight guy. My guitar was in England from point of payment in about 72 hours.

For me, my Japanese 72 plays better than any MIM or USA tele I have ever picked up and I just love it
