Hi all,

I just bought a used Fender Blackout Tele. I love every thing about it with one exception: I just discovered that my frets seem to be beveled to such a degree that my large E string falls off the neck when I play with vibrato there. The string is right on the edge of the bevel. In contrast, the frets on my strat have steeper bevels and I have more playing surface.

I'm wondering if I just have an odd duck or if this model of guitar always has 45 degree bevels.

I'm also wondering how I might compensate for this issue...
Buy a new neck? (Where and how much?)
Refret?
Sell my new friend? (I don't really want to....)

Thanks in advance for any advice that you might have.

Try and loosen the neck bolts and shift the neck a little bit to see if you can align it better. Then tighten up....
