So how are these guitars so cheap?

Are they any good? I love guitars and nothing beats a cheap guitar

Where are they made? (i know they are american but is it the body is american and the hardwares something else or is it all american?)

Anyone own one and whats your opinion?

Thanks i love fenders but its tough being a 16 year old kid who is strapped for cash.

I have one and love it and most of the people on here do too. It's a vintage Tele with hot alnico 3 pups, jumbo frets and a nitro finish. It says made in USA on the headstock and I trust it's built in the USA, although some debate it. My suggestion is try one. They used to be $899 and got reduce to $699 just the day I decide to get mine. I actually got mine for $595 at a local shop.

They're based on an early seventies telecaster with the vintage style 3 saddle, e.t.c. They're very good guitars, but so are the mexican standards. Try both of them out, see what you like.

in addition, if you have GC near you, try out their fender ash body exclusive.

fender made them for GC and musicians friend only.
i bought mine off a friend who owned it 1 month.
i paid $250 for it. i took it and had it set up with 11's.
honestly, i cant put the guitar down, even though i have some seriously nice guitars to choose from. with a guitar this cheap, its afforded me to
change out the pickguard to blk, and order locking machineheads.
still in under $350. the neck is crazy comfortable.
oh well, its something for you to look into if you can.
MSRP for this sweety is $799 i believe.
i got it cheap because my friend works for a guy that owns a GC
so he got a serious deal on it.

I would say the Hwy is a very very solid guitar. I love mine personally and all the details about it work for me. I love the jumbo frets and don;t know if I will ever be able to go back to anything else. The pickups seem to be the thing most people take issue with, but they sound fine for me. Also the nitro finish is one thing I like about it but some people like for their guitars to stay shiny and undinged so it might not be for you. But so far as feel, tone and design I'd say you can't go wrong.

+1 for the Fender ash body though, I played one today at GC and it was a very impressive guitar. I had given thought to possibly picking one up but I am happy with my Hwy 1 and if I get another Tele it will be one I custom build.

I have both an MIM Tele and a HWY 1 Tele and both are exceptional guitars! Where the HWY1 edges out the MIM is the 3 saddle bridge(you can mod that) and the grease bucket circuit. Either way you can't go wrong!

I love my Highway 1. I never fully appreciated the Greasebucket tone circuit until I started jamming with some friends lately though. It just opens up a world of tone differences to me.

The greasebucket circut rolls of the highs when you turn down the volume without increasing bass response. It give you such a nice even tone. I can't imagine life without it!! :D

Delta tone is a high output bridge pickup and a no load tone control. When you hit 10 on the tone knob it opens and bypasses caps and any filtering they are doing. Thats why its called no load. You don't have this on a HWY One.
