A guy on Ebay is selling a 60th Anniversarry tele but I have my doubts as the only pics of real ones i can find have rosewood fingerboards and the one he is selling does not? Any help would really be appreciated.

The Fender decal looks kind of dodgy to me...plus in the ad it says color orange in one spot and sunburst in the next...I would pass on this one.

DON"T BUY IT!!! IT'S A FAKE!!!

I just something about this just last night. The dead give away with this Telecaster is the fact that there is no Cubic Zirconium Diamond in the headstock.

I'm betting that the sell truly believes it's an anniversary Tele.

in 2006 Fender Started putting a little metal disk (about the size of dime) with "the number 60 on top of the outline of a diamond" on the back of the headstocks of all of their instruments.

The actual 60th Anv. model should have an actual diamond with the words "Sixty Years" on either side of it.

I see this sort of thing all the time, but mostly on Fenders made in 1996 (a gold anniversary disk). It drives me nuts. All fenders during these two years get the disks. There’s nothing collectable about them.
Please don’t waste your money if you’re buying the guitar for collectability purposes. It’s probably a fine instrument, just not collectable.

He removed the link, and editted his initial post to say, "Thanks", and that he did not end up buying it....
