I had a Fender Telecaster years ago. It was a pretty yellow slimline and it had a F-hole and a semi-hollow body. Do any of you know what year that would have been made in? I ended up selling it when I went to seminary and have wished many times I could get another one some day.

The Thinline Tele started in 1968.

Thanks atolleter! Do you know how many years they made them. It was a sweet guitar and everyone that played it said it was one of the easiest to fret they had ever played.

Until 1981. The were reissued made in Mexico in 2004. and are still made today, I guess Fender knows they have their own niche.

Roger Rossmeisl was chiefly responsible for this semi-hollow version of the popular Telecaster guitar.

But four years later, CBS redesigned the instrument with two Wide Range humbucking pickups, a new pickguard shape, a 3-bolt neck fixing with Bullet truss-rod & MicroTilt neck adjuster and a hardtail Strat bridge. The Thinline Tele, in his twin-humbucker guise, featured a solid swamp ash body instead of mahogany (some models were made from alder).

The '72 Thinline is Bob Dylan's main stage guitar for more than nearly 2 decades, here's a picture of him while playing it live.

2 Humbuckers, Tele deluxe style twin tone and volume knobs.

I love it !!

I ordered a black one but i have not got it yet. (i live in Thailand so sometimes it takes awhile)

I have a back American Standard as well.

You cant go wrong with a good tele !

well it could be a reissue from 2004, or an original, depends on when you bought it if you got it before 2004 then it's definitely an original and from at LEAST 1981, if you have a serial number i can run it for you
