Doth am I correct in saying that whilst waiting for your American Dlx to turn up you went out and bought a Classic Series 72 Custom?

Hello Dan, that is correct. They are two completely different beasts and I am having a blast with the Custom. Flipping between the Twang of the Single Coil and the Crunch of the WRHB covers a lot of ground. I figured if I was going to buy a Tele while I was waiting, why not buy one that is vastly different than the one I have on order.

HELLS YEAH!

Love that attitude!

I've got (as the sig suggests) a Strat Am Std and a Tele Am Special. And while the strat is my "go-to" guitar (it covers alot of bases) my tele........ well the tele just feels right!

I feel like in a week, maybe less than a week, it might be the one to go to....

And when that happens, I might have extreme GAS (because you're new to the forum, you should know that GAS = Gear acquisition syndrome) for a thinline like this

http://www.fender.com/products/search.p ... 0137402321

wonder if I could mod it to have split coils.... man that would be sweet! The thinline is really appealing to me atm.

Hello Impulse,

Sounds like you have two righteous axes. Unfortunately (in my wife's eyes), I am very aware of what GAS is! When I brought home the custom, she looked at me and said, "How is this different than your other 7 guitars?", then perceptively followed up with, "This doesn't look like the one you have on order". Ouch, busted by the wife. I had to buy her a new iPhone to make it even.

The thinline looks great! I definitely like the natural look. I don't know if the Fender HB's are splittable. I have a Schecter CR-1 Classic with a Jazz SD in the neck and a JB SD in the bridge, both are splittable and it opens a ton of options, so I can see your desire to do the same with the Thinline.

Post pics when you get it!
