I played the Tele at Sam Ash last week and was blown away. Its designed to be a Metal machine, but it cleans up really nice and I was able to get some nice, shimmery clean tones out of it. I loved the jumbo frets and the neck was built for speed. They had the white model w/the ebony board which if I were to get one, it would be this one. I am curious to try the black/maple version though.

Flat Black with Ebony fingerboard and Flat White with Maple. No dots on the board, matching pickguards.

These cosmetic features are currently available on the Strat version and can also be applied on the Tele as well.

I just logged a week of recording with both my Jim Roots. They stay in tune folks. I'm using Ernie Ball .10's. Playing through a variety of amps. You can get seriously clean, beautiful tones out of this guitar. It is built for speed and metal tones but really, you can get whatever you want. I love the fact that it has one volume knob and nothing else. Perfect! I am leaning towards the maple fretboard more often for some reason. :) I've always been a rosewood/ebony guy but this maple neck is pretty sweet, I have to admit. You can't go wrong with either one. I want a third for different tunings!!! I currently play everything in E flat and these guitars sound and play amazing.

He doesn't. Slipknot tune down to B, sometimes lower. I think Stone Sour might be the same, maybe C.

I finally got my JR Tele in December, took me long enough though right? It is a brilliant guitar and I's so happy I got it, Flat White with the ebony neck, plays like a dream and yeah I can't put it down, I'll be posting pictures in my other topic saying I got my Tele.
