I am building a custom Tele to my specs, what are your thoughts about the best replacement brand for a Tele body?

Options are Musikraft, AllParts, Warmoth, Other (list your other choice in a post)

I am going with the Musikraft neck because I have played one recently and it was just perfect. Plus I heard sometimes the frets on the Warmoth necks aren't all the way finished very well.

I like Fender bodies from eBay sellers who disassemble guitars and sell them in pieces because they're already painted and drilled and I know necks, bridges, pickguards, etc. will fit. They don't cost more than any of the aftermarket guys, on average. Better yet, buy used Fender parts from various guitar forum classified ads, craigslist, etc. Good deals are out there if you're patient and check ads often.

Obviously you can't get "custom" that way as you're limited to what Fender offers but it works for me.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

I just finished my Telecaster Custom with a Fender neck (3 bolt) and a Warmoth customized body. I made my own painting job. All parts are from Fender except for the pickguard wich come from Warmoth.

When I putted the Bigsby on I found that the body was shorter than a genuine Fender. 1/8'' shorter exactly. I was scared to have to abandon the Bigsby way...But it finally fitted on perfectly! So, if you want to buy a Warmoth body go for it!

Here is the link if you want to see my project (I have to update it... my axe is almost done!)
