I used to own these and they were all terrific Telecasters. The black was the last to go.

Sold them all to fund other Tele purchases. I also have this Sunburst Custom Shop '60 Tele, which I picked up while I had the 4 AV '62RI's.

Like you, I too really like maple necks (especially with bound bodies), so most of the rosewood Telecasters were sold. Still a few in my collection though.

But I am GAS'n for another Black AV'62RI.

I used to own a MIJ '62 Tele Custom. I loved the heck out it. I sold it to buy an '87 Strat Plus; another awesome guitar.

Eventually I found one with a Bigsby vibroto. I hated it. I ended up selling very quickly. Teles lose something when the strings don't go through the body. Also the set up has 2 flaws. 1. Fender uses an inferior bridge for the Bigsby Model and 2. Restringing is a Bit**.

At the moment I own two Tele:
1. Muddy Waters Tele I love
2. An Andy Summers inspired Tele I had built. I really did the maple neck. It's a sharp looking, great sounding and good looking guitar.

Hello,
After many years of searching the perfect guitar and a tone, changing a dozens of Jaguars, Mustangs, Jazzmasters, Esquires, Teles, a few months ago I bought an AV 62 custom telecaster. It came brand new with a vintage guitar case and the bunch of gadgets inside, but it's somehow NOS, since it's from 2009 (it was 10 yrs in the store!!!).
Stick it to my Fender Vibroverb 63 RI and the heaven's opened! That's it! Immediately I realize that this is a just perfect guitar for me, suitable to any kind of music. I loooove the dark mode on third position! Even if I got the kit for wiring to standard tele, I'll never do it.
The sound is not just as classic teles, it has some more rounded sound, well defined, straigh forward. I decide to sell all the other equipment, guitars and the amps too and keep just AV62 custom tele and a Vibroverb 63 RI. Enough for this life. Really!
Cherrs, B.
