My new all time favorite guitar. Jim Root signature model Telecaster. I love this thing so much I just ordered a bookmatching one that is White/Black pickguard and Ebony fretboard. I'm stoked by this guitar big time. It plays like a DREAM and sounds FANTASTIC!!!

Yes sir!

When your White one comes, please tell us which fretboard you like better, I'm curious.

Will do! The white one will be here this week sometime. :D
I can't put this one down. One thing I really notice on this specific guitar is how nice the fretwork is. Every note just sings and sustains, even up high with no loss of tone whatsoever just pure Tele tone with rocking pick ups! All mahogany body gives it a deep tone as well. I'm curious about the ebony fretboard myself. This maple fretboard is perfect so far in my opinion. The definition between notes in a chord is substantial. Even with full on distortion you can hear intricate details like no other guitar I've played before. The string through body is killer too. Palm muting is simply perfect on this thing. For me anyway. 8)

I haven't had a chance to really put the time into the ebony board yet but I can tell you this, it's smooth as silk, the action out of the box was perfect for me, very low but no buzzes. Great frets. Great necks and just great all around guitars.

After playing both for several hours, much to my surprise, I think I like the maple neck better. Not a lot better but slightly. The ebony is awesome and smooth but for some reason the maple neck allows notes to pop out a little more. Ever so slightly to my ears anyway. The difference seems to be when doing lead licks mostly. No noticeable difference in tone between the two. Do I dare get a third and get it with the maple neck also? They are THAT nice!!

You should do what you want to do man, if you like it that much then why not? You can never have too many guitars and The Jim Root Telecaster is what I'm after, I'll eventually get both aswell, then buy his Stratocasters. So yeah go for it and enjoy having three mighty Telecasters. :D
