Hi, what would a Japanese Paisley Tele from the early 2000s be worth today?
It is in quite good condition with a Seymour Duncan in the bridge position.
What do you think about those guitars?

Get a copy of the Guitar Blue Book. I would guess that it would be worth what you paid for it. Modern Fenders are not really gaining value. The vintage market is not cheep, so even Fenders from the '70s are starting to gain in value. When the Fenders from the '70s become too expensive, then the ones from the '80s will increase. You see where I'm going with this?

I bought a '77 Strat in 2003/04 for $700. It sold for $1200 on Ebay by a friend of mine. 15 years ago people called these guitars junk. Now people are starting to buy them. No one is selling their 1950s and '60s Fenders. Either they can't or wont. I played a '57 Strat that was selling for $35K.

I realize that this a round about way to answer your question, but I hope that it helps.

I see. Well if you can find one I'm guessing anywhere from $450 to $1000 for a used one. I found 3 on ebay right now. 1 you buy right now for $900.

The bid ends in 3 days.
Item number: 300427085395

My friend owns a pink paisley Strat call, "Pepto" that he really loves.

I wish you luck.

Note that the reissue paisleys came out in the late 80's (87-88), and were MIJ (or CIJ) Japanese reissues.
The 2000 reissues were apparently, correct me if I'm wrong, MIM. The maple necks on these were not tinted, very light in color. They tended to have somewhat better pups/electronics than the MIJ paisleys. I have an 80's paisley that I purchased for less than $300 in the mid-90's. I also purchased a flowerpower tele in the early 2000's when they were blowing them out the first time at MJ for $399. Both are different, very playable, but both had pups/electronics replaced with some very good Harmonic Design/Duncan/Barden pups. They now sound and play great.

James Burton played an original Paisley Red Telecaster during his days with Elvis Presley in the 1970s. This guitar became the basis for his signature "Upgrade" model, which has been introduced in 1990 and updated with three "dual blade" single-coil pickups and S-1 switching in 2006.

I'm not aware that MIM made or makes Paisley Reissues. As far as I know they have been made by either the Fender Custom Shop or Fender Japan.

As to the price for the guitar you are considering buying, it is probably worth LESS because it has been modified. In the US market, I think the approximate price would be somewhere in the $600 - $900 range, depending on condition.

I just saw 2, a Piink and a Blue at the local vintage shop and the price on each
was $600 and they were in very good condition.

Fender Japan produced Flower Power Stratocasters and Precision Basses in the recent past.

The early Floral Stratocasters were based on the '72 model and the latest versions featured '50s-style maple necks with small headstock, Kluson tuners and "spaghetti"-style decals.

The first Floral basses were modeled after the 1968 Telecaster Bass. For the latest reincarnation of the series, Fender Japan used the 1954 Precision Bass as a template.

The Custom Shop Paisley Red/Floral Blue Teles were Factory Special Runs (FSR) built by Art Esparza and Jason Davis.

Nice Telecasters.

Also, thanks for the info, I did not know there was a Blue Book for guitars.
