From what I understand, the guitar I have is relatively rare, as Fender didn't make a lot. I know they were shipped to Japan, and I know it was a FSR, but that's pretty much all I know.

I'm now selling it, but I want to be able to sell it for what it's worth opposed to what someone who is buying it from me thinks it's worth (you know how that goes).

Can anyone give me any advice on this?

I have a 72 Thinline Reissue, and it's a MIM. As far as I know.......they are all MIM. Never heard of a Made in USA one. Now I've heard the original 72 Thinlines were USA (back in 72). I'm sure I could be very wrong.......but that is what I've heard.

Fender definitely created a limited run of the reissues made in USA.

Seems like the Custom Shop made a FSR back in 2005. See link.

You are quite correct, Fender made a FSR of USA 72 Thinlines in the early 2000s.

These are quite sought after guitars, as they are fairly rare and will go for decent money, so don't sell it for less! (shooting myself in the foot here as I would like to buy one myself).

An important point to note: They don't have the original Fender Wide Range (Seth Lover) pickups in them - so they are not as highly regarded as the original 70s versions.

I am not really 100% sure of the market value in the USA for these guitars, but I suspect that they could be worth somewhere around $2000 - $2500 depending on condition and if they have a case etc....
