Maple. Just isn't right for me if it is anything else.

Rosewood is good for me. But if I buy another Tele, it will definitely be maple. :)

Well I'll be the black sheep here and say Ebony. If you're looking for crisp tone, it's hard to beat. I have one on the warmoth neck on my tele and settled on that after falling in love with the wood on many an acoustic neck.

I have rosewood on my acoustic, and two schecter semi hollow bodys, and they work and sound great for me. On my strat and tele, i like the maple, simply for the way it looks.

I chose Maple. I only have one Tele and it has a maple fretboard. Nothing special about it, it just is more in the thinking that Leo had to manufacture a decent guitar quickly at a good cost. He succeeded. I think it has little to do with the sound.

That being said, I have Ebony boards on the Ultra and the Gibson ES347. If I knew there was a superiority in sound, I can't tell. These two guitars are ultimate in tone though, primarily by the pickups(Lace Sensors and Dirty Fingers=Series 7). I think both companies use higher end products with ebony boards. These ebony boards are probably more costly and really do not change aural characteristics.

The rest of my guitars have rosewood boards.
