I just scored a 1988 Fender Studio 85 a couple of days ago which has a great sounding Reverb and Clean Channel on it. If you ever come across one of those , I'm sure you could use it for C & W with no problem . It's a very loud 65 watt combo which is American made.

Twins and Deluxe Reverbs are always sound choices for the Nashville sound. Hundres (if not thousands) of country recordings have been done with these amps. There are also a number of country guitarists who like the chimey tones of the Vox AC30 which in my experience sounds fantasic with a twangy tele. Unfortunately none of these amps are exactly light.

If weight is a major concern a solid state amp might be a better choice. They tend to have good headroom and are lighter but you'll need a higher wattage rating than you would look at in a tube amp.

The Deluxe Reverb, Princeton, AC15 and Blues Jr are good choices for a lower wattage and lighter weight amp but they lack the clean headroom of the bigger amps like the 100 watt Twins. If you like a gritier sound then they are perfect but if you want lound and clean go for the AC30 or any ot the Twin family. Or you'll need to mic your smaller amp throught house PA system which most places this isn't a problem.

An in between choice is the Blues Deluxe/Hot Rod Deluxe type of amp. It has more headroom than the 12-22 watt amps and can get pretty loud while staying clean. They are also in between in terms of weight. Heavier than the DR or BJ but lighter than a Twin.

Just throwing this out there. Unless you are dead set on a tube amp, don't be afraid to look at a Fender Mustang III or IV. Pretty spot on tone wise and not nearly as heavy as a typical tube amp. Plus they are loaded with effects. As far as tube amps go, you can't go wrong with a mesa lonestar special or lonestar classic 212 either. Both have excellent clean country tones...but warning...they weigh a ton!!

Loaded question.

For sure a classic BF Twin is amazing in most circumstances (except when you have to haul it). But you really can't disparage them in too many ways.

Peavey makes some fine quality MIA current stuff too... like the Delta Blues 210.

I have a DB 115 and the 15-incher may be too bottom end for Redneck Rock j/k

But the 2X10 might fit the bill nicely... and they're rugged.

If you're making an investment, go with a tube rectifier.

But if just looking for a gigging amp, check out the Peaveys.

cheers!
