Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on changing the tuners on a highway 1 telecaster. I would like to buy my brother some vintage style kluson tuners to replace the standard ones. Will the holes from the previous tuners be visible when the new ones are fitted? Do new holes need to be made to accommodate the klusons or is it just a matter of screwing them into the headstock?

Any information would be much appreciated! Thank you!

I put vintage klusons on my standard mexican when it was about 2 months old and ran into alittle problem. They covered up all the holes just fine, but the kluson bushings were a tad small (the jackass at the shop said they would fit :? ). I had to do some hillbilly rigging here and there that involved sports tape and super glue, but they worked out fine. Found out later that they have conversion bushings for this sort of project, but oh well. I also split my headstock with the klusons screws and that had to be repaired as well. How was I supposed to know to drill pilot holes first. :? I'M NOT A CARPENTER!!!

The Highway 1 specs will be different than the mexicans, so I think your project will go smoother than mine did.

Thank you very much for the information! I think I might try and avoid super glue and tape though :) Thanks again!
