OK, I don't need one. By I want one. I have played a few recently and really liked them....

I am leaning toward the 52 Reissue, American Standard, or American Deluxe. I haven't had a chance to play the 52 Reissue yet.

I like the Standard because of the price.

Are the other models really worth the extra $$.

Try an American Special too.

Good luck finding the right tele for you!

Yes, yes you do need a Tele.

It depends on what you want. If you'll be satisfied with a no-frills guitar made to exacting standards, you'll adore the Am. Standard. If you like gadgetry some might consider superfluous, grab the American Deluxe. It's a neat instrument but personally I don't like them, mostly because I feel Teles are meant to be simple and the Deluxes are not. The Reissue is a cool guitar too, although the vintage specs may pose some difficulties. You'll be compelled to learn to play on a 7.25" radius neck and to screw around with the electronics if you want a modern three-position switch. Great instrument though -- I want one.

To make a long story short: they're all good. Play them and see what you like.

I can't recommend the Baja Telecaster enough.

Thats a no brainer.
Every player need at least everyone needs at least 1 Tele.

Like others have said many times. "Play them all, then decide."

Theyre all good. I dont think you can go wrong with any 'Merican.
Dont discount the MIMs. I feel theyre just as good. Many come premodded. The only down side is that they dont hold their value like "Mericans

If I wanted the Deluxe or Standard, they would get an immediate pup change. To me the Standard is more of a plug & play guit, because it doesnt have "Toneless" while the deluxe does.
If I wanted a AVRI it would always remain stock other than modern wiring. To me that is the Tele sound.

Don't exclude the Squier Classic Vibe 50's Tele. Great reviews.

Agreed 100%. That way you have the best of both worlds.

I bought a squier back in about 1980, the best tele I ever had! I sold it about 2 years later and it ended up on at least 2 number one hit records and and lots of album tracks for Shaky in the UK. Who was the master of the telecaster playing my squier? Micky Gee
