My First Tele and I'm in Love. It was kind of an impulse buy, kept reading here how everyone loved them. Had to find out for myself.

They just happened to be on clearance at Tom Lee (Local Shop here in BC) for $575. I KNOW! WHAT A DEAL!

Couldn't say no. But they only had a dinged up Sunburst here in town. I was really set on getting a Blonde beauty, and I was lucky enough to get one of the last 2 in the company. Transferred to island from the mainland in the first week of March, but finances forced me to put in on lay away.

Until today. I can't tell you how hard it was this last 6 weeks. It was worth it though. I am in love. Haven't had a lot of time to get to know her yet, but I'm looking forward to many years of enjoyment.

Here she is. Couple Pics, one with flash, one without.

Ceri if you read this, taking pics of guitar finishes is hard. I understand what you were saying now. I can only imagine what your Wine Burst REALLY looks like.

Her Name is "Honey"

I am curious though. I can't find any current listings for this colour. When did they discontinue Honey Blonde? I can only find Sunburst, Black, and Wine Red. I assume that this is a 2009 model (Z8104946)

It does appear that all colors of the Hwy 1 other than Black and Sunburst have been discontinued. My guess is to make way for the Am Special. I wish I could find something verifying this, as most music stores have no idea what to tell you or no idea that they have stopped making any colors of it.

Beautiful HWY 1 you have, I LOVE mine and will never be getting rid of it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Thanks Everyone. I am really enjoying it so far. Too bad work gets in the way of playing.

Interesting about the colours BCB, there were so many rumours going around about the model being discontinued. And by the way, you've sold me on a Black pickguard. It was the one thing I was going to change but wasn't sure, now I'm sure.

i like how it looks for sure. I figured I cant have a 52 reissue now so i can customize my HWY 1. I change to vintage tuners, vintage string tree, vintage style brass saddles and top hat pickup selector.

Thanks guys.

I am loving the tone. It's just pure Tele Rock tone. I usually stick to clean, but I can't help reaching for the gain knob. And the sustain is unreal.

The best part is the colour. The thin satin nitro, with the beautiful grain peaking through. Just Brilliant!

I'm going to go play now.
