Some years produce more guitars and an extra digit in the serial. If you want to post it we can authenticate.

It should be a 2009 MIM but that number does not check in for some reason. Did you buy the guitar used? Try sending the serial to Fender consumer relations for confirmation.

no, i bought it new from sweetwater.com last month, there's no doubt it's real but all the serial number engines don't read the mim reissues, i'm just curious as to what month it was made. to me each instrument is a person and each guitar gets that extra play time on its "birthday" i know it's a bit weird but it's just something i've done for years

I can understand. I fell asleep holding guitars before. Maybe consumer relation can help, Gibsons give more info from their serials.

Customer Relations is the only way you can find the (accurate) mfc. date.

Otherwise the only thing that matters is "MZ9" for the year with-in 2.

and then there would be 5-6 digits after that.
