Post subject: MIM putting out sound, but not much

i bought a MIM tele that was used but it was in really nice shape, made in 03 and just recently, i have had to turn the volume on my amp up way higher than normal to get the same amont of volume that i get on a lower volume with my epi SG. its not the chord, and its not the amp... any advice at all is greatly appreciated!

It could be that the connection is weak. try to take off the output cover and have someone that knows about electronics take a look at it. It might be that the metal thing in the output is not reaching the cable. You simply have to push the metal thing down so that it reaches the cable once you plug in! Sorry for my lack of terminalogy. i took the output jack apart and didnt see anything wrong so i put it back together and it worked so im just not going to fool with it.

Well if you took the jack apart and it came back to full volume that is where your problem is coming from. Now if you are just playing at home I would say leave it but if you are gigging or playing in a band go bring it to a tech and have it checked out proper as you may need a new jack input, as you would not want it happening during a gig.
