Does anyone here own a Made in Japan 52 reissue? If so can you tell me more about it? Are the pups made in the US or Japan? Your thoughts on it? How much you paid or what you think a good price for a Mint 2000's model would be? Thanks in advance.

AjayTele probably has ten or twelve of them.

Hopefully he'll see this thread and chime in.

I'll hazard a guess as to price but don't claim to be an authority - $500 to $750, depending on condition and the negotiating skills of the buyer and seller.

Cool, hope he sees this. $599 for the one I looked at, it was pretty much mint but the owner said the pups were USA made and I wasn't sure about that. I would imagine they are made of good quality like the other MIJ Strats and Teles. The MIJ Tele I had was super and my dream is a US made 52 AVRI, but that isn't in the budget.

Also, the serial number on the one ai am looking at is R012862

but when I check the www.guitardaterproject.org website it says unrecognized and usually that site is pretty accurate.

I have a 2006 CIJ 52 RI with Texas Specials & bigsby.
You Could also get a a version with USA vintage p/u's.

I bought mine direct from Ishibashi Jpn. You'll see that with
the exception of their standards most of the Japanese models have
USA pickups of some description.

I recently bought a CS 65 NOS Strat.
The Tele is what I keep coming back to....
Actually that's because I'm scared of getting "The precious"'
CS dirty or scratched......I just need more time.

I own and play a butterscotch Fender JV Tele '52 made in -81 (Mashahiro Shimokura). As far as I have been able to gather, it was only produced in a small, very ltd quantity and quite rapidly shelfed by Fender. Have been told that the modern Japan/US '52 reissues, is dressed after the JV Tele but with a number of changes due to marketdemands. Have been told by traders of vintage instruments, that my JV Tele is a close as one can get to the original '52 instrument compared to recent Japan and US reissues.

I've actually owned and played a US '52 Ri and as far as I can tell, there were big differences as for tone, neckshape and frets.

It's been my precious workhorse for decades, but now (after many records and tours in Europe and the US) I've decided to part with it. All original, wellworn but in excellent condition. Neck in perfect condition and the frets are good for many more years. Comes w original Shimokura case and original strap.

An exceptional player and a collectors instrument. Feel free to call and bid, if interested. We're talking + € 1 500:

Just pickup one of these up. Looks like it has 11 gauge strings on it. The guitar is new so I am guessing the shop did it. Great guitar.

I am waiting patiently for the UPS truck today, to deliver my MIJ reissue limited edition Telecaster that I got from www.harrysguitarshop.com
I have it coming in the tweed case from Fender, since these guitars do not come with a case or any type of case candy. I am so looking forward to having this guitar in my collection. Only 240 are available from the independent music store dealers that the winter Namm Show offered to them. My guy Harry was one of the dealers to get this guitar. He also has the FSR MIJ 54 limited edition Stratocaster. I already have one of these from the custom shop from 1996 with John Page's signature on the COA. Great guitar that is with a AA/birds eye flame neck. I couldn't be more happier with my Fenders. Great guitars and great people to deal with. :D

The UPS man arrived today at 5pm with my guitar. This MIJ is fantastic! I am so glad I decided on getting it. Thank you Fender for another great product.
