I bought a fender delux telecaster with strat pickup around 10 years ago retail $3000 in australia. They don't seem to have them anymore over here although the same quality tele's sell for $3500 now. I wish to sell my gutair (prefect nick - hardly used) but I'm not quite sure how to label/describe it - as it sits in between - although more tele than strat obviously. How is it best described and what is it worth in the market over here.

Also what do you recommend nowadays for a tele if I'm to buy another?

Welcome to the forum!

Does it look like this one :

I'd try an American Deluxe Tele or if you want a Custom Shop, there are several good ones available such as the Custom Shop Telecaster Pro.

Thanks for the reply. Yes very similar except colouring etc. Also the bridge is different, with long elongated adjustable metal thingies, with fender written on them. What are they called? So it's definetly in the nashville range.

Man how much cheaper are gutiars over there! With the exchange rate almost on par (10% less or so), you wonder what margins the retailers here get? Unless there is some import excise tax or some thingy to support local manufactures but Australia normally has a more free trade arrangement than say in America - why? beause we have to! HA HA.

cheers again for the reply. Yeh not sure what the bridge is called, maybe its the one found on a strat.

eppenvanderaa, from your description of the saddles (adjustable metal thingies) and the price you paid, I don't think you have a MIM Nashville Telecaster. Is there any way you can post a picture at a free photo hosting site like www.photobucket.com so we can identify it for you?

Alternatively, look closely at the headstock of the Nashville linked above. I bet your tuners, string tree, truss rod adjustment hole, and decal are different. I also would wager that yours has 22 frets instead of 21. I'm guessing you have an American Tele of some kind.

I figured it was a Nashville but now I would also like to see some pics, as I am curious to what it is exactly.
