In my opinion "hot" when speaking about anything other than strictly measuring output is a vague term and it seems as though it is used too much and as a general selling point. How "hot" it sounds will depend on numerous factors in addition to your definition of a "hot" sound.

It's kind of like buying a bag of potato chips thats says "now even crispier", which for some reason they all do at one point or another. The question becomes how does one measure crispiness??? (or hotness in this case).

I know what you mean.
The reaon I ask is because I own a MIM Tele and a Jeff Beck Strat. The Tele sounds louder on the same amp and breaks the amp into overdrive quicker then the Strat. I like this allot about my Tele but I am not sure if the American Tele would do the same.

Depending on the models of MIA or MIM. There are as many different types of pickups as there are models in both lines. I know you don't want to hear it but you must try them all out to find the exact tone you are looking for. It is impossible to make a generic decision based merely on MIA VS MIM for the very reason I mentioned. Go try them all and decide!! Good luck my friend!!

Hi there, I guess you are still interested on this.
They do sound hotter... (Louder) Well, I experienced that with two side by side but I would probably depends also on what type of amp you use.

The guitars were Standard and American Series. I´ll never forget that! ha
