I am considering purchasing one of these instruments. I currently am playing an Aerodyne Classic Strat(2006MY). I am looking for a more "blues" oriented sound; and, feel that this new
Tele would be the answer. I am currently using a Jazzmaster Ultralight amp,but am considering trading for Vibrolux or a Supersonic Combo. Would this make a good all around package? I live in the "boonies" ,therefore ,good advice is hard to garner! This model is appealing because ;I don't want to give up :?: my Strat Tremolo!

Hi aerodyne! I have a '72 Tele Deluxe (hardtail), and I absolutely love it. However, it doesn't really have--at least not in my opinion--what you'd call a true blues sound. The humbuckers are much throatier than what you may be after--it's sort of Fender's answer to the Les Paul. Since you want the Strat tremolo, have you considered just getting a more traditional non-aerodyne Strat? The new American Special Strat might answer your requirements very nicely.

Don't misunderstand me: I think the '72 Tele Deluxe is a wonderful guitar, but I'm just skeptical that it will give you the sound you say you want. 8)

Thanks for the quick reply! I have also looked @ the
Texas Roadhouse Strat and tried one out @ the local dealership(17 miles away). But tthe Tele Body Style is appealing & this particular model is French Curved on the backside just like a Strat. Once again thanks for the quick response

Yes, it is truly a marvelous instrument. Mine is a 2006 model that I picked up in September 2009.

It quickly became my number one.

If you do decide to go with the '72 Tele Deluxe, I know you'll enjoy it. 8)

You might want to try pickin' w/downstroke/upstroke technique this will force you to relax and smooth out your phrases and riffs.I know it works for me. Also, always think in terms of letting the notes sustain (as much as possible ) into each other; this will smooth out your "note flow" and tempo. The note "separation" is defined by the attack of pick to string. Hope this helps!

Hi! I have that particular guitar and i like it a lot. I play some progressive rock/metal stuff and some vintage sounding guitar music (clean sounds) and i think this piece of wood suits fine for my needs. I however had its pots upgraded to 500k ones (250k stock).

In my opinion this ProGuitarShop demo gives a quite good image of the guitar.

Can't tell if the sound is what you are looking for, but for the price I think this is really worth considering.

Hope you'll find the right piece for your needs!

Here's a pic of mine :)

I ordered my CPD Tele w/ trem today. It's back ordered<> should arrive in app. 3<>4 wks. I have viewed YouTube video's of various Tele/Strat models and this axe is the best bang for the dinero! I can't wait to try it out and give a full report of it's performance capabilities!P.S. some people should not attempt to produce guitar demonstration video's. Know what I mean,Vern?

Very good photo! The black/chrome looks good in the sunlight, however I must admit that I ordered the 3TSB(I hate finger print smudges on a black guitar surface) I work in a lot of bars and night clubs and the Sunburst finish will be more durable in that environ.Admittedly, not very flashy, but it is more practical! Anyway that is an excellent photo and thanks for the reply.Good luck in your musical pursuits!

I can squeeze the blues outta mine, but she tends to wanna rock! It's all in the EQ. I love the sustain I get out of mine. She runs circles around my Strats in that department. She just doesn't have that Strat tone.

This guitar will fulfill a lot of tonality issues that I have with Strats.I have played Strats for years but I think they sound more like "surf guitars" than what I am looking for and needing in the repertoir with my current band. I know that every one thinks that they can have an SRV sound with a Strat but the only person who could do that was SRV himself, with help from Carlos Diaz and some other guitar and amp techs. Hence, Tele w/ HB pu'ps and Strat whammy!

I have certainly enjoyed all of the chat concerning this axe. The one I ordered should be arriving @Fender's warehouse today(asssuming that the receiving dept. is open on Saturday!) It should arrive @ my dealer in(hopefully 4<>5 days). Thanks to all who responded to my post!
