What ABS said should work out fine, especially if its Izzy's GN'R parts you are looking to play which I'm guessing it is if you are in the market for a Tele. If it's mostly Slash's parts then you will need a humbucker. You could get a MIM and fit some Hot-Rails in that case.

Best of luck!

Stradlin's parts are usually as hard as the Slash mans though, especially on Appetite as they intertwine more than one going on top of another.

Izzy Stradlin is my favourite guitarist of all time, so precise its not funny and his off beat up-strokes are a signature of his I find I use in my own playing a lot!

Best of luck and enjoy your new Tele!
Check out GN'R's gig in Noblesville, Indiana in '91 on Youtube. Iz uses a Tele the entire set.

This will get you started! Very simple in terms of rhythm:

I have a HWY 1 and I just picked up a VOX AC 15, the new one with both the Normal and Top Boost Channel and the Celestion Greenback. It also has the Tone Cut knowb. THis might be the best combo I have ever heard. I'm not sure that I can do it justice. But I am going to try...he, he!

For an amp check out a used Vox Valvetronix or AD 30 VT etc. they are about the best modeling amps out there with many great amp models and realistic copies of some famous effects for less than $500.
