That will fix it. :)

I just bought a '52 Reissue this week and haven't changed anything yet.

There is one more tone you can get with the '52. The 3 way switch works like the 3 way on Vintage Strats and lodging the switch halfway between the bridge and neck positions produces the classic middle position tone of later Teles. That's my favorite Tele clean tone and I'm glad it's there with no mods needed. 8)

Sweet... I had heard of that on the Strats and haven't thought to try it on the Tele. Will be doing that today!

I'd say that was a pretty big mistake Art 1. I never even played a Tele until last month when I got the 52 RI.... I had just bought an american standard strat the week before and thought it was my favorite guitar... not once I played the Tele... it's by far the best guitar I've played. LOVE IT!

Hi Art T I wish people would come to me before deciding to sell or trade a good guitar. I learned the hard way that no matter how insignificant a guitar may seem at the moment a day will come when you'll deeply regret getting rid of it.
I've also learned that once in a lifetime chances to buy that special guitar are just that and if you see a guitar that screams"Take me Home"do it or kick your own butt for eternity, been there, been there, been there.

Yep, I do that with mine all the time. No need to mod.

I was very happy to discover that the classic neck/bridge tone was there. I cut my Fender teeth with a 1965 Strat and the neck/middle in between position has always been my favorite. So I get the three classic Tele tones and the vintage dark circuit with the '52 Reissue, which is growing on me because it's so different

That settles it... no mods on this baby!

John

Here's an outdoor patio pic of my '52 Reissue.

The swirling wood grain pattern blew me away when I first took it out of its case. The playability and vintage Tele tones sealed the deal when I plugged her in. :)

What a fantastic guitar!

John

It's an American Vintage '52 Reissue ordered from GuitarCenter.com. I was planning to buy a GC store guitar but the one I wanted got put on layaway before I could buy it.

So, I worked out an in store trade in deal and ordered my Tele online, which I rarely do because I like to play before I buy. It worked out great this time. This one's a long term keeper. :)

I can tell as it sits there by the fireplace that your bridge pieces need a serious intonation job. You have them right straight across! That's, uh, not correct. They're great guitars, though, get it intonated properly and it should serve you well for many years. I really think they are one of the best Teles out there.
