Rosewood Or Maple Neck? Is this a matter of preference, aesthetics? Or do they sound a difference?

This question and debate has been covered more times here than anyone farts in a lifetime. You might as well do a search. Second to this question and debate is Alder vs. Ash body.

If you don't want to answer a question then don't. Who cares about your opinions? This is site for help. Not a site for off topic replays.

OK, you broke me down. LOL

The general consensus is that a rosewood board exhibits a bit 'earthier' tonality in comparison to the maple board which exhibits a 'snappier' tonality in comparison to the rosewood board. The same consensus held true with Alder vs. Ash bodies. Regardless though, a tweak of the amp can easily make one mimic the other and its all good.

I thank you and Tanner1994!!! I guess RWL presumed me to be some kind of troll and felt compelled to defend the high standards of this forum. To his credit though, we all answered this age old question! LOL

To be honest, I quite liked your original answer. There are probably 15 threads on this forum covering the subject. If the OP would take a moment to search (instead of being a jerk), he would find a lot of delightful reading material.

First off. I’d like to apologize to Martian. And Thank You for answering. I realize this is a very common question to you but not to me. I’m about to spend $799.99 to $1149.99 on a guitar. So I came to this Great site “Fender Teleaster”. To ask some questions to help me decide the right guitar for me. Instead of searching the internet reading opinions from whomever. So in the future may I ask what questions are valid to ask without getting multiple replies telling me how common the question is? Who is really at fault hear a person asking a common question about a guitar or a person giving an off topic reply? Isn’t that up to the moderators? Or is everyone hear a moderator over a 100 post?

O ya. This is funny.

No hard feelings!

Your questions, "...Who is really at fault hear a person asking a common question about a guitar or a person giving an off topic reply? Isn’t that up to the moderators? Or is everyone hear a moderator over a 100 post?" Well, we tend to police ourselves and because this question was indeed responded to more times here than anyone farts in a lifetime, my statement was more of a reflex than anything else; I just happened to be the one to respond to it first and guaranteed, if I didn't first, someone else would have similarly.

If you delve into our posts, you will clearly see disagreements and differences of opinions and at the same time, I'd venture to say at the very least, half of all topics straying from their original subject(s). Fortunately, it is only a rare poster who gets outright nasty and it is then that the moderators do get most involved.

I can see your point though but again, this forum truly is more about camaraderie then the usual pissing contest type forums which permeate the web where indeed here, you can let your defenses down.

Again, no hard feelings!!

In my humble personal opinion a Telecaster just does not look right with a Rosewood Fretboard.
