Post subject: pups for a squier!

i bought a squier tele standard and a texas specials pups i put it n and they sounded like hashhhhhh and when i used the tubescreamer or the ds1 the pups feedback so much and i dont know if i need to put another components on the circuit or what can anybody help me?

You probably just need to experiment with the pickup heights and adjusting your settings if they are harsh...if you are experiencing excessive buzz or feedback, check your wiring and make sure grounds are connected.

You should also look into shielding your guitar to reduce the 60 cycle hum.
