Hi!

I find my self realy wanting a humbucker guitar now adays. Im mostly a strat player, but for me a strat with humbuckers is just wtong, so I started looking around and found out about the '72 reissue teles, and they seem awsome. I have been doing some research.

Im leaning towards the deluxe if I can get my hands on one. I like the idea of the strat neck but I havent tried it and its actualy bigger than my american strat. I have pretty big hands and my guitar teacher told me I could need a gigger neck. Even the "tummy cut" is a pluss for a strat player like me. :)

I think the thinline is my second on the list, and the only one my local guitar store have in stock so its the only one I can test out. I also love the look with the f-hole.

Then theres the custom. Im not very fond of the tele single-coil bridge pickups though soI guess its not for me.

This is a problem for me. I dont want to buy a guitar without trying it. Also, is there anything specific I need to know about these guitars? Also I might even consider the Jaguar HH, but dont that have even smaller neck?

EDIT: I forgot to add that Im not a big fan of gibsons, Im more of a Fender man.
EDIT2: I also forgot to ask do the hollowbody of the thinline affect sound much?

I just bought a 72 deluxe and love it. Right now Musiciansfriend.com and sweetwater.com have the FSR versions of the 72 deluxe, which are factory special runs in different colors. Same guitar, just custom colors. Musiciansfriend has their white FSR down to $620 which is under the $700 they sell the normal ones at. You can probably talk your local store down that much on a new one, but I opted for the different color. The sweetwater.com one is in the Shoreline Gold color.

The one thing I would recommend doing is to upgrade the pots. The originals used 500K and sometime 1M pots, but the reissues only have the 250K in them. The 500K's take some of the muddyness out of the sound. Other than that it is a great sounding guitar. I was in the same position. I wanted something with humbuckers, but still wanted a Fender and I am more than happy with my choice.
