The Rosewood Telecaster is built for a limited period of time - until the end of 2007. Does anyone have any idea how many will be built during this period of time??

No idea how many - I'm guessing as many as they get orders for!

I have one on order...can't wait to get it. :D

There are 4 different models that I know of other then some made in the late 80's. The custom Shop which is a true replica. Two Japanese models one is a Japanese replica then there are the ones that are basswood sandwiched between two pieces of Rosewood. The Mexicans are just alder with a Rosewood Veneer and maple neck and rosewood fretboard. I would love to get one of hte custom shop models, but a little over my budget. Maybe I can snare one of the Japanese relicas.

If you see one of the Japanese replicas, you'd better snap it up!

They are rapidly rising in price as well...

Yeah,
I believe when they say Limited Release they mean for a limited period of time, so they sell as many as there are orders for. This means any axes made under this banner are not going to be really exclusive, but then again with the price tag, not everyone will be able to afford one. I can't really afford it either but had to buy one once I tried it. By far the most amazing playing guitar I have had my hands on!
My friend came over and tried it then went right out and traded in his Music Man for a Tele!!!

I bought a used 2007 Japanese Rosewood Tele. This is the new rosewood/basswood/rosewood body, not the 80's Harrison reissues worth $2000+ or the Custom Shop model getting $4000+.
It's really a great player and I was shocked when within about two days it had replaced the Tele that was my number one since 1992.
I'm still surprised at the tone considering how light the body is.
I've always dreamed of owning a rosewood tele, it's no the real deal, but that doesn't matter.
To me it looks great, and plays even better.

I was trying it out in the store, and someone came from the other side to see what kind of guitar I was playing. They told me he knew it was a telecaster from listening to the sound, but he thought it was the best sounding tele he ever heard. I liked it too and I bought it.
