I wondered what the least inexpensive but best buy for the money Tele model would be? I assume its going to be an export, or Squire?

I am looking for one, any help appreciated. I had a Thinline (Mexico) many years back and sold it before I even played it much, wish I kept it, prices seem to have gone up drastically?

Thanks :D

Was hoping to get something in the 300 - 400 range, depending on the possibilities of what you get for this price.

I guess in your budget range just a used Stanndard Tele but for about twice that much you could get a new Baja Tele. From what I hear a great Tele. You might find a good used MIA Standard or a Baja Tele for a little more than your budget if you take some time and look around.

Just before Christams, I on a fluke, purchased a Never Been Played SB Highway One Telecaster complete with all papers, tags, gig bag. Serial number indicates it to be an 07 year of manufacture but the original owner said he purchased it new himself in the Fall of 08. It's perfect unplayed guitar in new condition as I haven't used it except to test out the PU's. All original.... I paid 575.00 which included the shipping....

Because of my age and lack of usage, I am soon to list it on ebay for a Buy It Now Price of 535.00 and include shipping..

Before this happens and if interested contact me..

In the mean time, I'll try to find some links to pictures and post them.

If 400 bucks is your max I'd take a look at any of the 3 classic vibe Squier's one is even a mahogany thinline. If you can go a little more Guitar Center has a natural finish ash Tele on sell for 449.00 on their Screamin Deals of the Week But you better hurry on it. 8)

Go with a Squier Tele, Standard, Vintage Modified, or Classic Vibe Series...As far as other import Teles, like SX and Douglas, read my response in this thread in the Squier forum:

Nothing wrong with a standard Tele. With a proper setup and through a good amp, they play and sound fantastic.

Otherwise the Squier Classic Vibe gets rave reviews.

Cheers.

Another vote for the Hwy 1, but its over the $300-$400 budget.

I have this one http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=519584 It's a really good guitar and screams.

But if I wanted a traditional Tele I would have gone this route http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/prod ... sku=519376 for under $400.

You should be able to find a decent shape pre-owned Tele in the web classifieds or your local guitar shops.

If you want the best "bang-for-the-buck" I'd say Nashville Tele. Just my opinion though.

I just played a new Squire Tele in a store the other day that was something like $350. I'm not sure what exact model it was, but it was sunburst with a rosewood board. It felt great! I would not hesitate for a second to recommend it.

Some where within a 100 miles of you is a good vintage guitar shop I would bet. If you know any musicians or guitar lovers they should know where it is. Go look at the teles there and feel um out you might find a used on that will surprize you for 250.00 300.00.
