Been trying to figure out what model telecaster this is. All I can figure out is that it must be some custom shop thing that the commoner like myself can't get access to. Sorry its a video, but you can see it at the 11 second mark...

Welcome to the forum! It looks like a rosewood tele as far as I can see. Forum member AjayTele has several of them. I think you can get them from Fender Japan among other places. He would be able to tell you more. I believe the MIJ model goes from $1500 to $2000. I could be mistaken on all of this though, except AjayTele!!

Here is a discussion about them,

Wow. I love how I see a random guitar and fall in love with it thinking it is unique... only to find out it was one of the most sought after collector's guitars there is ha ha. Any idea of how to get ahold of one of these baby's for cheap as possible? (I'm not the kinda guy who buys a masterbuilt or custom shop). And i'm not really aware of the techniques to go about getting a japanese guitar...

That's a Rosewood Tele alright,George Harrison put the collectors price through the ceiling by using one on Let it Be rooftop concert an original in good condition is worth $13,000-16,000 but I've seen them much much more than that.MIJ reissues made from 86-96 are worth $1,400-1,700. BTW the original was made from 69-72.

Did I hear someone discussing a Rosewood tele?

Yes, that's a MIJ Rosewood Tele in the clip.

They are collectable and prices are constantly rising. Current price for one in good condition (and unmodified) will be upwards of US$2000.

There's one on eBay in the UK at the moment...

And there's an even rarer REAL 1968 one...

I think the price is a bit over the top though.
