I traded my Blackheart LG combo for a 1998 CIJ Jerry Donahue Tele last week. It was in pretty rough shape cosmetically but I have since cleaned it up. It plays very otherwise. The neck is AWESOME. It feels alot like a Jimmy Vaughn profile soft V. I have not plugged it in yet but it resonates very well unplugged. The original 5 way JD wiring was apparently changed to 3-way. I will probably rewire it to 4 or 5 way eventually. Enough blabbering. Here's some pics.

I am not sure what pickups are in it. It is pretty hard to find good info on these CIJ models.

I picked up a blue JD for $300 several years ago. The stock bridge pup was microphonic, and the 5 way switch was glitchy. So I replaced it with a SD JD bridge, left the stock strat pup in the neck (which is excellent) and rewired with a stock 3 way switch. Not only does it sound great, is lightweight, the neck is one of the best V's I've found.

The neck is super on this one too. Definitely my favorite guitar now.

Here's a photo of Jerry with his Tele:

Best known for being a notorious Tele master, Jerry is a also a serious Strat slinger (as shown on the photo below):
