I found a rather unique telecaster in a shop that I have never seen before. It appears to be a MIJ model and somebody has scratched off the serial number on the back of the neck, just above the guitar body. It has an oil tint rosewood fretboard neck (with no skunk stripe) that appears to be 7.5" radius with standard tuners. The odd thing is that it has no visible pickups. It has a 9-volt battery in the back, but for the life of me, I can't figure this one out and am asking for some assistance. Can possibly provide pics if needed. Thanks.

I'd be very suspect in buying a guitar(or anything else)with the serial no. taken off because the reason it was most likely done was because it was stolen.I would never buy stolen property not only because of the rap I'd face if I was caught with it but because it's just unethical, that guitar probably was someones means of putting a roof over his/her family's heads. As to the identity of the guitar ,I don't know but I'll keep looking.
