So I am looking into a possible next project...and was looking at these '72 thinline bodies, my question is: can I fit regular size humbuckers into the pickups places. I.e. Gibson '57 classics. Thanks for the help!

You'd have to drill a few extra holes in the scratch plate. The 72 Thinline mounts the pups using four screws, none of which are in the middle.

You might be able to get these guys to make a custom scratch plate for you.

I actually found a better site...warmoth...a lot easier to customize and their pickguards are slightly less expensive...also lets me choose to have it configured for gibson humbuckers as a preset option

thumbs up warmoth

it should fit...but it is possible that it may be slightly off...which is why warmoth puts that disclaimer on the page...just in case
