Ok chaps first post here... the tele in question (I believe) is a firemist gold may 1968 (neck date) tele. this was bought by my dad new in 1970, so i can authenticate the finish is factory.

Just hoping some of you out there could tell me more about my guitar, or maybe some of the guys from fender can check for me

to date I've only ever seen one firemist gold tele on ebay and one shoreline gold in one of the fender books.

any info welcome !

Wow! Gorgeous Telecaster.

Do you have this book?

If not, you'd enjoy owning it and it can help you identify what you have.

You're a lucky man, that is one gorgeous Telecaster. As for the book, I got it a few months ago, it's choc-a-bloc full of great information. Enjoy your guitar, you'll definately enjoy the book if you get it.

Wow what a honey! You have a hell of a Tele there and the only advice I can offer is to take care of it like your Dad did because that is really clean for a 42 year old ax.
