Just curious on this one. I know the Highway One Series Texas Telecaster are made in California but what about just the standard Highway One Series Telecaster? I think they are (or were. maybe they still are) American made but I'm just checking to see if I'm right.

From what I've come to understand, They are assembled in the USA but the components "hardware" is made in Mexico. Body and Neck is suppose to be US made... Guess that makes it a Joint Venture between USA/Mexico.

Never the less, final assembly in the USA California Plant.

Totally inaccurate and would also be false advertizing. If it is made in USA as it says on the headstock it has to be made in the USA. otherwise Fender would have to say assembled in the USA.

Fantastic guitars. I have one and it is easily my number on Tele now. The jumbo frets and Grease bucket circutry really add to this guitar. I alos love the nitro finish. I have really bonded with this guitar. Keep us posted if you get one and by all means post some pics..:)

Well, If this is inaccurate that's great but then why is Fender selling some of there parts like the Highway 1 neck pickup, packaged in a Fender package that are manufactured in Mexico?

Harley Davidson even says there motorcycles are made in the USA but are full of asian made electrical components.

Not trying to start a firefight here but there are products boasted as made in the USA that are probably only truely 80% USA made parts!!

Fender strings are made in Mexico and installed on USA made strats...

For the real sake of argument. My Highway 1 Tele says "Made in the USA" on the back of the tuning head. Everything else around me is of course a mixed bag af made everywhere except the USA... Ha

No firefight starting taken Bro...When I made the decision to purchase my HWY 1 Tele I actually had the chance to talk with the folks in Customer Service at Fender and they said that all the parts are made in the US. Either way, I don't care because I have a fantastic guitar so it is all good! :D

My dealer tell me (few years ago) the parts are mexican made.

But today ?

More chance that they are made outside USA I think

Best playing tele I ever had was the first year they were produced, 11 radius and texmex pus which I usually do not care for, seemed just right..

The Highway One's are US made, and so is the hardware. Great guitars all round though the "nitro finish" has a poly undercoat (as do all Fender guitars) so is it really a nitro finish?.

Assembled in usa. Parts made in Mexico. Free trade perks I suppose. Correct me if I am wrong out there.

What you are talking about is "Assembled in USA" if that were the case, they would have to say that instead of "Made in USA". Everything on the Hwy 1's is made in the USA.

These guitar parts are made mim. Made in the usa means that in order to get this classification, the assembly and finishing costs are greater then the sum of the cost of the part's. Martin had a line of guitars 80'S 90'S (shanandoa) made in japan, also some Sigma's parts were then sent back to the usa for finishing.Givening them the same MADE IN USA classfication. They sold a ton of these guitars and probley saved Martin's $@!. Years later they are now called the Road Series. These are Mia This practice is going to become more common in the future due to riseing labor& material cost increases. So my friend give Fender a call.
